Reminder of trailwork this weekend in Heber. Meet HERE at 8am Saturday May 18th. (off UT32 near heber) Bring long pants, boots, gloves, sunscreen, shovels, heavy duty rakes and branch loppers. We will be grooming the freshie cut connector trail. Afterwards we will go for mexican food in Heber. On us (MTBRace Productions). Then maybe a ride. Any questions, let us know!!!!!

Remember that next Saturday the 18th we will have a trail day in Heber. Our goal will be to finish a newly cut trail that will be used in the Wasatch Back 50. Details to come.

Update on Club ride days: Ride days will now be Mondays and Wednesdays. This seems to create the best overall scheduling for everyone involved. We will continue to hold some extra ride on Saturdays, including public camps. Future rides will follow this schedule after this Saturday.

Devo’s: Tomorrow at trailside bring your XC bike, if you do have a dirt jumper bring both bikes if possible.

If you have not yet done so, please fill out our questionnaire HERE about which days work best for you (this is only for club rides, not Devo).

To help with planning, we will want each Devo member to send a text if they will not be able to attend a ride. We have a new text service that will allow all coaches to see the one text. Please send “devo”  to 435-494-4481 you will then receive a couple messages from this number, just follow the steps to join the group (Both parents and athletes should do this). This will be the number for “Summit Bike Club” so put it in your contacts, and will be the number we will send out texts if plans have changed or have been cancelled.

Club members, we are thinking of moving the Wednesday ride to Monday, as it seems it will work better for some people. If you’re registered and Mondays don’t work for you and you were planning on Wednesdays, please let me know. We will still hold our Saturday rides. This week we will still have Wed & Sat, and next week will tentatively move to Mon/Sat. This weeks schedule and texting service details to come.

Also, keep in mind that we will have a trails day on June 1st with Wasatch Trails Alliance to get their new trails in shape. I rode the upper riverview yesterday, awesome 20 mile loop with great views (see photo above). This is for all SBC members, and anyone else that wants to help out. After the trailwork we will check out our progress by riding the trails.

Devos – If you don’t have anything already planned Sat Morning, become a part of Wasatch Trails Alliance’s trail crew to work on the Riverview trail!  Also note that SBC will holding a trails day with WTA on June 1st.

Next week Utah High School Mountain Biking is holding their Cyclefest fundraiser, which is a great opportunity to support their amazing progress to introduce mtb racing to high school athletes. There are many great items at the silent auction, including two items we donated.

Devos – Monday we will be riding at Glenwild, to ride the Bob’s Basin trails. Meet at 5:30 at the Spring Creek trailhead. Thursday we will be riding Round Valley, and have a quick TT for baseline for the season (PCHS athletes know the route). Meet in the parking lot above the playground at Round Valley (near the ice rink) at 5:45pm.

Racers – The midweek race series is starting up this Tuesday with their first race at Corner Canyon, you can find more info HERE. SBC members can receive a discount for race entries, but must see me before registering.

We had a lot of fun at our Moab camp this weekend, and had a group of about 20. It was a good start to the season for many with great temperatures and trail conditions, and was really nice to meet new riders!

When you come down look out for the SBC flag and banner, a mile or so off Willow Springs. If this changes, I’ll repost here and email those who have shown interest.

Pack everything you will need, there are no facilities.

This last weekend we had members racing at Sea Otter in Monterey CA with some great results, and at Alpine in cold wet Utah!
